My Best Day in a LOOONNNNGGG Time

Perfect.
Today was just perfect.
I'm not sure what good I did in the past days, but everything went well for me.

Had lunch with 2 wonderful people who helped make my life in T1 bearable all of December.
They are none other than Geng Yan the genius, and Betty the gem.
Haven't seen either of them since the year started.
The only thing that had changed was that Betty grew prettier.
That aside, they're both just as jovial, crazy, funky... as before.

Never thought I'd ever say this, but work was a blast today.
I had the best time ever.
Worked with Annie, Angeline, Camille...
Wonderful women.
Who teach me mandarin and hokkien!
Dinner was at Brek.
Authentic Italian cuisine on Camille's recommendation.
And Annie met her friend who was working at there.
So we had 30% discount on all our food...

And life just gets better.

When I got home, I came online and checked my email.
I'm working dramatically less days!
It's practically working part time, thanks to 2 additions to our crew of greeters!!

AND
I refer to my entry on 'Speaking of diplomacy',
The Uni DOES care!!!

Latest email entitled 'Tsunami support' from our new Vice Chancellor reads
"........

I am pleased to be able to announce that the key elements of theUniversity's assistance package are:
- immediate cash donation of $250,000 to the major aid agencies...
- staff to make donations through salarydeductions to Tsunami relief appeals...
- Currently-enrolled students living in areas affected by the tsunami arebeing contacted to find out whether any assistance is necessary either immediately or to enable them to complete their studies...
- ... possible activities...to undertake early in the academic year to remember those......
- Flexible employment and course enrolment procedures ...
- providing assistance in rebuilding universities, schools, hospitals...

......

Glyn Davis AC
Vice-Chancellor"

Okay, so Uni isn't so bad after all.

I'm a happy girl today.
