ARGH!

23 years old and already a dive instructor?

Yes, it's often these non-mainstream people who seem to be sure what they want to do with their lives.

While growing up, people put ideas in my head - these jobs were noble, others were cool... Was lucky enough to go to uni. There I received more information on even more glamorous jobs. There were the ones that everybody wanted to do but only few qualified. Apparently those companies are awesome employers that more importantly pay really well. But if you don't get there, that's ok cos then there were the jobs that you were 'trained for'. Then there are the jobs that due to circumstances you just had to eventually do....

I'm convinced that none of these is what I truly want to do. But I'm so lost I'm not sure what it is that will make me happy. Every thing that I think could be interesting gets shot down: 'it's a stupid job', 'there's no future in it', 'please choose a profession that gives your training and yourself some respect', 'so little pay?! forget it!!'

Thought this was my opportunity to try my hand out at whatever random job I want. Unfortunately it's not as easily executable.
It's highly frustrating that nobody seems to understand where I'm coming from, and that they think they know better. As if that's not hard enough, it's even more stressful to know that whether or not they voice it, the people closest to me are most judgmental of what I choose to do with my time.

Say whatever you want, I'm really going to pluck out courage to try out things that excite me.

I think so, at least...
