real life movie

Just when I was wondering if the world was still nice, I saw this very nice sight at Safeway yesterday -

The ~14 year old boy wanted to buy a pack of 5 DVD-Rs that were $12. When the cashier scanned it, he looked really disappointed and said he had to come back for it later and dejectedly walked off. The woman in front of him who had just finished paying for her stuff and was gathering them, looked up and asked the cashier '$12 was it? I'll cover it!' and she handed the cashier a $50 note. The boy thanked her and ran off.

And I thought these only happened in movies.

Spring spring

I just realized - it's my last spring in Melbourne.
Because I do hope that I won't be here next year.

I was just telling Lydia,
I want to complain about spring.
It's been one week.
The weekend was beautiful but it's been raining the rest of the days.
Not nice being out, let alone be walking in any park....

BUT, because of all that rain, fresh little green leaves seem to be peeking out of the tree branches that line the roads and avenues...
And my neighbour's cherry blossom tree seems to have gone through a pink explosion. The whole tree is pink and white now it's beautiful.
And our rose bush that was botak just last week is also growing leaves and branches.
Hee... Quite an exciting time if not for the rain that dampens everything else.

I shall go take photos!

Bye bye!

Florence and I caught 'Friends with Money' today.
It's about the lives of a small bunch of women in their40s who've been friends for a long time (they probably went to school together)

Here's the line that I've been holding on to all day: -
'We're so different. If we had met now, would we have hit off as friends?'

No.
But the point is we're already friends.

I miss my gals.
Heaps.
