I WAS supposed to be packing up to go back to Melb cos my flight's in 6 hours.
BUT no, I started reading other people's blogs, and then read my own previous entries of leaving Singapore...

Ophir pictures up.

Impressed

My week's been really really good.

I am particularly impressed by 3 dudes.

Dude 1:
I got off the bus at Yio Chu Kang MRT station and I see this boy beating another one up.
They were both in the Catholic High School white shirt and green shorts.
I shout at him to stop.
He runs away and I help the bullied boy up.
I asked him how this all started and he told me some long story on how the bully's entire class didn't like him and was always out to get him.
So I asked 'why don't you beat him back?'
The primary 5 student replies, 'The Catholic High motto is that every boy be a bilingual scholar.  I am a Catholic High boy and I am a scholar so I don't beat people up.'
I was just speechless.
I listened to the 11 year old voice out his insights about school for the next 2 minutes.
All I was thinking was 'this kid is more mature than I am'.
The last thing he said before he boarded his train was 'when I grow up I'm going to write a book about my primary school life'.

For my entire train journey from Yio Chu Kang to Somerset, all I could think of was this Primary 5 boy.

Dude 2:
Is about 60 years old.
If you go to Risen Christ for mass, you might have noticed him.
He sits 2 rows in front of me and he sings the hymns and says the prayers with amazing faith and conviction.
He's inspiring.

Dude 3:
Is another old man.
He is none other than the 82 year old I sit beside for mass everyday.
He always wears this really happy and genuine fatherly smile, and never fails to remind me to 'bring my bag up to communion'.
At the end of mass, he says 'see you tomorrow'.

It's the little things like that help make the mass experiences beautiful :D


So these are 3 of the people who have made an impression in my life and I just had to share it with you.
Of course there are other people I'm amazed with.
Tell ya bout em when I get inspired to.

More whining

Hey I don't understand why people come here to read me whine.
As if I don't whine enough in real life.
Nevermind come hear me whine it's theraputic to know that somebody is reading my whining.

Purpose?

I just noticed something.

We seem only to search for purpose or direction in our lives on occasions:
- When we come to a fork on the path of our lives
- When things get hard and we wanna give up

Well, basically when things are not going as smoothly as we'd like em to...

What more is expected?
